...and a contract, and -£1,100. In other words, next week I will be moving house, hopefully for the last time in two years or so. The room isn't quite as huge as my brain was trying to paint it, but I will have plenty of floor space if people ever want to drop by.

As a follow-up to the cookery post, the remains of the mushrooms and a third of the spinach were fried with garlic and herbage and used as a stuffing for cheese on toast, while the last of the spinach was fried up tonight with garlic and herbage and bacon and mixed into pasta. I can do other things than frying, honest...

As dantarian has started stealing my off-the-cuff recipes, I figure I may as well share with the class.

Those that follow the principle of Balance believe in one thing, and one alone; every act comes with a price.

They're right; there is always a price. The work comes in making sure that those who pay the price are those who deserve to pay it, or at least that those who truly don't deserve to pay it don't have to.

Even if it means paying the price on their behalf, whatever it may be.

Seriously, guys at work. How do you expect to get stuff done and know where things are if they're disappearing under mounds of dead devices and random paperwork?

It's saying something when hunting devices becomes an extreme sport...

That said, I managed to find two today when my brain clicked that the serial numbers I was hunting for are the ones for the devices we'd been destruction testing this week. I'm a numpty.

Last night, the lock on the flat front door broke without me realising it.

Today, along with everything else, I've moved my stuff and the stuff that was left behind by one of the occasional tenants to a co-worker's flat, organised for a locksmith, had a new lock fitted and recovered my stuff while a) lacking a manager because he needed to stay home and look after his kids and b) getting most of the work I was meant to do done.

Karma did not appreciate the bouncing yesterday, obviously.

I found a room, it's enormous and amazing and the house is made of win and the landlord is lovely.

*breathes*

I may have bounced at work and amused people...

Work continues; I now spend practically all of my time on paperwork, when I can actually do it. It's surprisingly interesting paperwork at times, but not really what I wanted to do with my degree.

The house hunt also continues. I have until May 25th before the company flat ceases to exist. Hopefully I'll get lucky with one of the two I'm looking at this week.

I will be in Bath this weekend. There will be IC stupidity before the game to look forward to, huzzah ^_^ If anyone wants to claim my Saturday afternoon for a good reason, do so before Friday, otherwise I shall look forward to a whole day of dantariany goodness (i.e. him falling asleep on the sofa around 4pm).

Edit: That's one house definitely on the no list. Mediocre downstairs room, crappy kitchen and no communal living/eating space. To make matters worse, I first went to the wrong house and trapped my finger in the gate, removing a chunk of skin in the process.

Should have posted this earlier in the week, but I was tired.

If people are willing, I would love to collect some honest feedback on the 24hr. Any concrit is welcome.

Tell me about what worked, what didn't, any suggestions you may have to improve it or make it different. No commentary on the players involved, however, I refuse to claim any responsibility for them ;)

In other news, I might actually get most of the props for the weekend made on time. I had a brainwave and the random junk to back it up. Now moving into panic mode for the 24hr...

Somewhere in the countryside near Kradle stands a quiet farmhouse, one that has had two unusual guests for a couple of days.

Suddenly the quiet is broken by a woman's angry shout.

"He did WHAT?!!"

...and bought a mobile broadband dongle for my laptop. 3Gb a month isn't much, but it's enough to run messenger, check emails, read lj and look for a flat in the evenings at least.

So yes - I'm back! Sort of!

I will write the entry on how much I loath cleanroom suits and why tomorrow.

I'm off to Chelmsford first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully chat to people some time today around packing and final family outing.

Been to see my new temporary flat today. I'm leaving it as soon as possible.
